Down but not out

“Be stronger than the storm.”

During regular mammogram I was diagnosed with breast cancer which required a lumpectomy and 34 radiation treatments along with hormone therapy.

I faithfully followed oncologist’s advice and had regular mammograms, all was okay. I went on with my life of volunteer work and felt pretty good.

April 2019 had my final 5-year exam and was told I was cancer free. So I went to Maui in May, but when I returned found lump in same breast as before. A biopsy revealed that, sure enough, the cancer is back again and this time a mastectomy is required. I am trying to stay positive and have a lot of support, but some days are rough. Surgery is 28th of this month don’t know what else will be needed.
