38 years ago, I had breast cancer and I decide to dedicate part of my life to being a patient advocate. Recently I was diagnosed with breast cancer on the other side, I was scheduled for radiation but after having a pet scan they found I had cancer in my spine, in both lungs and skin cancer on my scalp.
I have chosen to take immunotherapy instead of chemo. This is not a cure but may extend my life. I am still working at an oncology car as a patient advocate, hoping I can be assistance to someone else. I am 77 years old.
Not only do I still work but I have a non-profit to help cancer patients with everyday expenses. There is a song called “I want you to love me through it”.
I hope that is what will happen with me as I want to live until I die.
